System for Urination and Defecation Detection
Response to the aging society and the decrease in the nursing workforce.
In 1993, we started at the request of the National Cardiovascular Center. The goal was to address the aging society and the decrease in the nursing workforce. After seven years, we managed to develop a highly sensitive gas sensor that can detect the initial stages of urination through signal processing. Currently, we are using a prototype to collect data through clinical trials. In addition to the original purpose of caring for bedridden elderly individuals, unexpected applications have been devised, such as measuring the treatment effects of nocturnal enuresis in urology and obtaining baseline data on patients' urinary patterns.
